What are judicial powers of the court and where does this power come from?
The powers come from Article III section 2 of the constitution.
-all cases arising under the constitution and laws or treaties of the US
-all cases of admiralty or maritime jurisdiction
-cases in which the US is a party
-controversies between a state and citizens of another state
-controversies between 2 or more states
-controversies between citizens of different states
-controversies between citizens of the same states claiming lands under grants in different states
-all cases affecting ambassadors or other public ministers
